My name is Julieta and I work for sustainable transport charity Sustrans. I am the Project Co-ordinator for ‘Pocket Places’ in Central Stockport.
What is Pocket Places?
Too often our environments are dominated by busy roads, litter and forgotten spaces.
Sustrans Pocket Places initiative aims to change some of this.
Over the next 18 months we are inviting local people to identify ‘Pockets’ that have potential. Through fun events and design workshops Sustrans charity will support you to develop ideas for transforming these spaces into vibrant community places. The ideas could be anything from a street party, or something that needs time to grow like an allotment. We will provide you with the support and resources, all you need to bring to the events is an open mind and your ideas!
How I get involved?
Look out for events springing up near you! We want as many people as possible to join in and get involved.
So whether you have an idea for a ‘pocket place’ or want to have a chat about the area please get in touch!
If you would like to get involved, you know of something already happening in the area that we can connect with, you think I should meet someone or you’d just like to make a comment please get in touch!
